Recruitment Services For Executive Search Firm In the Electromagnetic Engineering Industry

Due to the highly specialized field in which the client works, finding qualified candidates can be a challenge, and the industry average failure rate for executive searches stands at 40%.

The Client - ERS Antenna

Providing recruitment services to commercial and defense companies within the aircraft, cellular, automotive systems, missile technology, and aerospace sectors, ERS Antenna is an executive search firm specializing in the electromagnetic engineering industry.

As a member of NPAworldwide, a global recruiting network, ERS has relationships with more than 600 recruiters around the world – giving them access to a pool of qualified candidates in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas.

 “

During a stressful period, our client was able to access the capabilities of a skilled professional with no long-term contract, no overhead, and no need for a lengthy training period by using our Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) services.

Requirements For The Project

Though ERS is a leader in their specialized team, they are a small company comprised of only two staff members – Gary Edwards, the president and founder, and his assistant, Lori. As such, it is difficult to keep up with the tasks at hand during especially busy periods.

During one such period, in the summer of 2015, when ERS was struggling to keep up with the daily tasks of finding candidates for clients, Gary received an offer for a 5-day trial from Noon Dalton – also an official NPAworldwide Partner – to try out a virtual solution. After accepting the trial, Gary was assigned a remote team member named Arnold.

Challenges Tackled By Our Team

Due to the highly specialized field in which ERS works, finding qualified candidates can be a challenge, and the industry average failure rate for executive searches stands at 40%. This is due in part to the fact that the required types of engineers are not highly visible or always actively seeking a position. Good candidates are also regularly contacted by recruiters, and those with hard-to- find skills are usually considering multiple job offers.

Our Solution

During the five-day trial, Arnold uncovered dozens of qualified candidates to fill positions for ERS clients and Gary was thrilled by the fact that Noon Dalton’s remote team member did what no other overseas recruiter had ever done before.

Though they were excited at the prospect of enlisting Noon Dalton’s services, business slowed and they decided to wait until it picked up again before hiring a full-time remote team.

During a high growth period a year later, when business had increased rapidly, Gary reached out to Noon Dalton again. Arnold was once again available and remembered exactly what ERS needed and how to complete recruitment searches.

Finding candidates for such difficult engineering assignments can be extremely challenging, and Noon Dalton fully prepared Arnold to excel at this task by training him in a variety of areas, including phone etiquette and recruitment strategies. Given the niche field in which ERS operates, Gary was also surprised at how well Arnold could follow instructions and take suggestions.

Results & ROI

Within a day or two, Arnold was searching the Internet and providing viable results, and within three weeks, ERS had secured two interviews for candidates, which Gary credits to the work of his remote team member.

Within 30 days of partnering with Noon Dalton, they had an offer for a candidate.

During a stressful period, ERS Antenna was able to access the capabilities of a skilled professional with no long-term contract, no overheads, and no need for a lengthy training period. Gary attributes the success of his remote team member to do the training that was provided before he began working with ERS.

Noon Dalton also provided exceptional reporting, including a spreadsheet that outlines every task that was worked on and how much time was spent on each one, and even though Arnold is located across the world in India, communication takes place numerous times a day via Skype, email, text, and phone.
